Massive Attack - Blue Lines

Actually this wasn't even termed trip-hop at the time. As often genres only start to exist when a news sound gets copied by many. So what did this British band do? They filtered American hip-hop and rearranged it in the style of British club jam culture, creating a slower and darker sound and delivering the first masterpiece of what was later to become club, dub and hop = trip-hop.

The result: one of the biggest club hits of all time....
