Verckys et l'Orchestre Vévé - Lassissi Présente Verckys et l'Orchestre Vévé


Verckys (Kiamuangana Mateta), a saxophonist and businessman from Zaire joined Franco's world famous band Ok Jazz in 1965, but left the band in '69 to form his own band, Orchestre Vévé. Very popular in the mid seventies he began setting up a network of clubs and labels and by the mid eighties, he was one of the most influential people next to Franco and Rochereau.

The music is very similar to OK Jazz, but lacks those famous voices Franco & Ok Jazz was known for.
