Waxahatchee - Cerulean Salt

Yet another swell album from 2013. First time I played it I thought they were Dutch because at times I'd swear I was listening to Bettie Serveert. Then again I hear a little Cranberries or Sinead O'Connor so must be European for sure....

Nope. This is Katie Crutchfield from Philadelphia, a city with a lot of podia for musicians. On this album accompanied by some supporting musicians. Her debut (American Weekend) is more homespun, acoustic, but this album, keeping that sound adds more atmospheric sounds to it, which is a solid base for her deep voice.
