Coco Robicheaux - Spiritland

Louisiana blues man Coco Robicheaux has come a long way. Not that he had any trouble making it to the scene. The guy is so talented he already had a contract with a record label at the age of 18. But he had his problems along the way, like being hit by a vehicle and breaking his back.

Laying in a hospital dying of pain waiting 24 hours to even get some help next to a victim of a shooting made him realize American health care is not really what it should be.
Years and years before Obama care even was invented he, together with many other artists (like Janis Joplin for instance) already realized health care wasn't going anywhere and they fundraised a free hospital where the poor can find help.
For that he contributed songs to the funk CD Get Your Healin' and later on he also contributed his full album Louisiana Medicine Man.

Born as Curtis John Arceneaux (LA) his style of playing the blues is best to compare with Joe Cocker, but with more acoustic influences.
