Guillermo Portabales con Los Guaracheros de Oriente - Sones Cubanos
This is a vinyl rip of a 1978 album by this Cuban artist, but I am sure it is way older because Guillermo Portabales (born 1911) died in 1970 after he got hit by a car, leaving a restaurant where he performed in Puerto Rico were he lived. He was active from the late 20's until mid 60's. There have been many re-issues of his work, but even this must be one as well even though it is Vinyl.
Oh, I am sorry... vinyl? Yes you know, those big black records that were dissed because they are bigger than your laptop so they would not fit in.
Mister Portabales is said to be the creator of Guajira de Salon, a rhythm that keeps the middle between punto and son, but this album contains some fine son montuno tracks.
