Mancini - The Pink Panther and The Return of the Pink Panther

Who does not know the theme song of the Pink Panther? Of course that was made by someone and that someone is Henry Mancini (and his orchestra), a brilliant jazz composer that made the scores for numerous famous films and TV series, such as Peter Gunn, A Touch of Evil, Charade, Breakfast at Tiffany's and, of course, the Pink Panther movies.

He was not the first one to use jazz elements for soundtracks but he was the first accepted by the public. Very, very understandable if you listen to his music now, because you can easily make out when you are listening to an intr tune of some series, a part from a movie where things get a little tensed, or just hear a few notes and think OMG this is soooooo seventies!

And, not to forget, he is the composer of Moon River, one of the most famous jazz tunes ever.

Like I said, brilliant.
