Former post-punk / new wave icon Adam Ant never really made it back to the scene, although new material has been released in 2013 after almost 20 years. Back in the eighties however Adam and the Ants at first and later without the ants, Adam not only was very recognizable by his unique sound but also a trendsetter and a very influencing artist. He paved the path for bands such as Bow Wow Wow, Fun Boy Three and Bananarama.
But even after many years he still remained very important to a lot of bands in the alternative/indie genre.
After a couple of albums Adam ditched the ants, but kept Pirroni from the second line-up of the ants as a co-writer and producer. Two more great albums were the result, of which Friend or Foe (1982) was the first.
The song Goody Two Shoes made it high into the charts:
