Anouk - Urban Solitude

Anouk is a very willful and self-opinionated woman and that brought her a lot of critic lately from fans. Fans in the Netherlands that is because in Holland people are not allowed to have any status, you all need to be the same. That is also the reason why the Dutch have the worst customer service in all of Europe, but Anouk couldn't care less. And she is right. 

If your name is Usain Bolt, you should be allowed to shout 'I am the best'. And Anouk may not be 'the' best rock singer in the world, fact is she is top ten material and simply too good for the Netherlands alone and entitled to have some stardom.

I'd say go for it girl and keep bringing the world such fine albums as this one which brought you Edison awards number 4 and 5.
Great songs as Michel, Don't and R'U'Kidding Me are pretty rare coming from the Dutch clayground.

And i did not even mention the fact yet that she is a great stage performer as well. The Dutch should be quiet. This is not some 'one of us singing duo from Volendam'. This is an international rock star, a woman that used her own inside power, knows what she wants and was able to throw someone like Barry Hay of his feet, just singing along on stage.

Be glad she is there. Such great talents simply outgrow the Dutch narrowed view on the world. The rest of the world considers such a thing as normal. Live with it.
