Ain't internet fun? You can download stuff you want to have and isn't even for sale. This is the remastered extended 2013 version of this 1986 album, which is for sale as a 2 CD + 1 DVD set. Without the DVD, which I do not even want to have. Great.Because the original album is only 11 tracks. This one has 18 tracks + another 12 remixes and dub versions on the second CD.
And what about the band? Another of those bands considered to be New Wave post-punk and are now labeled as dance pop or rock. Probably because of their huge success in the USA, merely caused by their version of Venus which became a worldwide hit. But they had many successes in time, even in the USA, like cruel summer and their liaison with Fun Boy Three (It ain't what you do, It's the way that you do it).
True confessions was and is their best selling album, so not really a surprise that even 27 years after they still release a double cd + dvd.
Happy wave music, no matter what label you want to give it.
My choice a somewhat less known track, Riskin' A Romance. Because this track is what Bananarama was all about. Happy sounding girlpower, telling the world girls in the eighties still want what girls want. But they want a say in it.
