Black Uhuru - Ultimate Collection

Black Uhuru comes from the Swahili word that means 'freedom' and is a real Kingston, Jamaican second generation band, probably the most successful. Originally formed by Ervin Spencer and Rudolph Dennis, but Spencer left the band to join the Wailing Souls when they had problems at first to get a record contract.
With Michael Rose as new lead singer and accompanied on tour by no less than Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespear success was inevitable.
Later on harmony singer Sandra Jones joined the band to complete their unique sound and start the (commercially) best part of the bands career, with some great world wide hits such as Sponji Reggae and of course What Is Life?
