Hip Hop Essentials - Vol. 11

I really like those lazy rap beats in hip hop and on this volume we find a lot of those. Seems to me the last three volumes of these great hip hop series by Tommy Boy are more theme based and less balanced where it comes to the mixture between great old classics and deeper tracks. Not that "Spoonin' Rap" from Spoonie Gee is not a classic by the way.

But tracks like "I Got It Made" by Special Ed, "Wild Thang" from Too Much and especially "Vapors" from Biz Markie make this volume the most chilling CD of the series.  But if you play them all and start during the day, this one being 11 out of 12 will already be played late night ;-)
