Hip Hop Essentials - Vol. 9

Probably the most funky hip hop CD of this series, containing tracks such as "It's Funky Enough" by the D.O.C., the deep dark drum echoing "PSK What Does It Mean? from Schoolly D, James Brown-ish funky tracks like "Have a Nice Day" from Roxanne Shanté and Salt-N-Peppa's "Lets Talk About Sex".

Songs like "P Is Free" from Boogie Down Productions and even "Can I Kick It" from A Tribe Called Quest and based on Lou Reed's "Take a Walk On the Wildside" complete the funky sound.

The CD tops it off with a real co-production: Afrikaa Bambaataa / James Brown. "Unity" can't get funkier than James Brown, now can you?
