Habib comes from the Khassonké griot tradition. Musicians by heritage but not to keep traditions, but to expand them and renew them.
Bamada is the band he formed when he was already 30 and with this band he started to move a little forward to modern music but still within his own regional traditions. Just not with traditional instruments but with his electric guitar.
