Beethoven - Complete Works For Violins and Orchestra, Romances

Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Philippe Herreweghe, Orchestre des Champs Elysees.

Classic story of a musical Russian family. Patricia grew up in Moldavia mostly with her grandparents for her mother was also a violinist and her father played the cimbalom, both touring through Russia most of the time. Patricia took op violin lessons at the age of six and at the age of 12 the family moved to Vienna. Is there any better place to be for a Russian girl to become a great player and still be amongst a lot of Russian people than Vienna? Probably not!

It is said that she is one of the most imaginative players that exist today and she is able not only to mesmerize the audience but also her colleagues.

Kopatchinskaja is one of the few players in the world that get chosen to play famous violins built in the 18th and 19th century. You know...those violins when you happen to drop them, the insurance company needs to pay a fortune and the complete classical world will consider you a criminal :-)
