It took a while before Welsh singer/songwriter (born in Manchester, 1968) finally had his real breakthrough with this album, but only because Dave Matthews decided to release this album on his own label. Before that Gray already releases a couple of EP's and two full albums. Not that they were no good albums, indeed they are (and they are reissued now) but Gray is just not mainstream enough, although he makes beautiful electro soulful music. The alternative kind.
Gray toured with Matthews and the release on his label not only brought Gray some success in the USA, but because of it 'Babylon' became an international hit and the album made it to the number 5 position in the UK chart as well.
Very nice album although the first few tracks are way stronger than the rest of the album.
