Nine international musicians, residing in the Netherlands. This is afro beat, afro jazz, afro funk, rock and samba all together, influenced by the Griots of Mail, Nigerian afro beat and the Mbalax of Senegal. It is a brilliant album, one moment you are recognizing the style of Fela Kuti, the next moment you are listening to a traditional song or Baaba Maal but with the studio sound replaced by a fat rhythm and horn section.
This is fusion of the best kind and the album (from 2009) was very well received, but the original website for this project has been put down, so my guess is there will be no next album.
