T-Bone Walker - I want a Little Girl

Texas born Aaron Thibeault Walker followed his stepdad's footsteps, who was playing the bass fiddle in a Dallas Band. He took the opportunity to learn to play like very string instrument he could find, but his stepfather for sure wasn't the only one that inspired him to play the blues. That were the visitors and performers at the clubs, like the legendary Blind Lemon Jefferson who was guided from joint to joint to play for tips by T-Bone.

This is a late sixties album (T-Bone started out in the late twenties) and it is a pretty laid back album. Great work from the band members as well (I specially like the tenor sax) but things only get really interesting when T-Bone throws in a rif.

Blues music today would have been different without T-Bone. Not only he inspired and influenced many, but amongst them also the great, like B.B. King for instance.
